The NAME it Podcast #02

Last week I was a guest on The NAME it Podcast with my friend Jonas Ogonowski! In the episode we talk about how I came to be an architect and researcher, thresholds and in-between spaces, and learning from being immersed in cross-cultural experiences.

I shared a quote from Mahatma Gandhi that I learned from friends at Manav Sadhna and have been striving to put into practice - a reminder about holding yourself accountable to being the change you wish to see, acknowledging that it will be uncomfortable and hard and that you’ll fail, but to keep trying and learning to do better in the fight for a more equitable world.

“As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world as in being able to remake ourselves.” - Mahatma Gandhi

I talk about being personally rejected in the episode. Upon reflection, this made me realise that I was much more afraid of the fear of failure, rather than dealing with the repercussions afterwards (maybe that’s why I hate suspenseful scary movies?!). I tend to deal with the anxiety of not knowing by diving headfirst into challenges, which may be why I’ve ended up in research!
